There are three quality campuses at Hertfordshire University, including: St Albans Campus, Hatfield College Lane Campus and the Hatfield de Havilland Campus. Each campus is very well equipped for students at all levels and accommodation is in halls of residence, where rooms come with ensuite facilities and network points. Nearby self-catered flats are also available.

Each campus also has high quality library and media services, while the Hatfield de Havilland campus boasts superb sports facilities at the Hertfordshire Sports Village. There are astroturf pitches here, squash courts, badminton courts, a state-of-the-art fitness centre and a secondary gym.

In addition, the University of University of Hertfordshire Students' Union provides students with a great social life through its numerous clubs, societies and the popular Front Bar.

St Albans and Hatfield towns

Both St Albans - famed for the nearby Roman city of Verulamium - and Hatfield offer students the chance to unwind and enjoy their free time with the many shopping and entertainment options available. St Albans is the more substantial of the two towns, however, with its rich history stretching back to the time of the Romans and many shopping centres.

The Forum Entertainment Centre and Forum Theatre in Hatfield are big favourites for students, while both towns enjoy a liberal sprinkling of cinemas, cafes, restaurants, bars, traditional pubs and nightclubs.

Student Loans

The University of Hertfordshire is allowed to charge new, full-time students up to £3,000 a year for tuition fees from September 2006. Many students will apply for a student loan to cover their tuition fees and day to day living costs. Student loans are the best option for borrowing money for college as interest rates are traditionally low and repayments don't start until graduated students are in work and are earning over £15,000.
