Kent University Campus Life

The three campuses under the Kent University umbrella are the Canterbury Campus, Medway Campus, and Tonbridge Campus. Medway is also shared by the University of Greenwich in southeast London, while Tonbridge Campus offers part-time courses.

Facilities at the Kent University campuses are excellent, particularly at Canterbury and Medway, the latter of which offers exceptional sporting facilities. Canterbury Campus is self-contained and boasts a comprehensive Students' Union, the Templeman Library, the Medical Centre, computing services, and shops, banks, eateries, bars and the 'Venue' nightclub.

In addition, there are excellent library facilities at each campus, while accommodation is guaranteed in halls of residence for first year graduates at Canterbury, as well as tasteful student flats and shared houses at all campuses.

The city of Canterbury

Canterbury is a World Heritage city and a hugely important Christian one at that, being the centre of the worldwide Anglican Communion. Canterbury Cathedral is without doubt the star attraction and Bell Harry tower dominates the town.

Much of the town centre is pedestrianised, where shopping options abound and theatres, fashionable cafes, fine restaurants and numerous traditional pubs and modern bars congregate, making it ideal for a student to be based.

Student Loans

Kent University is allowed to charge new, full-time students up to £3,000 a year for tuition fees from September 2006. Many students will apply for a student loan to cover their tuition fees and day to day living costs. Student loans are the best option for borrowing money for college as interest rates are traditionally low and repayments don't start until graduated students are in work and are earning over £15,000.
