Canterbury Christ Church University

Canterbury Christ Church University is located to the southeast of London in the hugely historic town of Canterbury and is one of the youngest university’s in the UK. The school was actually founded back in the 1960s as the Church of England Teacher Training College, where a few hundred students has since grown into 14,000.

Students of all age and backgrounds are drawn to Canterbury Christ Church University from countries the world over; including Canada and the USA, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Korea, and Taiwan.

Canterbury Christchurch University is the largest centre of higher education in Kent for the public services. Teaching and research is spread over four faculties, with an attractive range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

As well as the main campus in the city, Canterbury Christchurch University also has many off-campus sites within the city and three more scattered around Kent: Broadstairs Campus, Salomons Campus and Campus at Chatham.

Student facilities and services at all campuses are superb, with excellent student welfare, sports facilities, the Canterbury Christ Church Students’ Union and plentiful shops, cafes and restaurants. The city of Canterbury

Situated between London and Dover, the World Heritage city of Canterbury is one of great religious importance and is home to the magnificent Canterbury Cathedral. The cathedral is world famous and while historic buildings are dotted all around, while parts of the city are still enclosed by medieval walls.

In addition, Canterbury city centre offers comprehensive shopping options amid its narrow, pedestrianised streets, where theatres, trendy cafes, fine restaurants and lots of bars and clubs can also be found.

Student Loans

Canterbury Christchurch University is allowed to charge new, full-time students up to £3,000 a year for tuition fees from September 2006. Many students will apply for a student loan to cover their tuition fees and day to day living costs. Student loans are the best option for borrowing money for college as interest rates are traditionally low and repayments don't start until graduated students are in work and are earning over £15,000.
