Brunel UniversityFounded in the 1960s, Brunel University is a West London university based near the town of Uxbridge, boasting some impressive statistics. With an affinity for engineering Brunel University has in excess of 13,000 students, 3,000 of which are postgraduates engaged in research study. In addition, shops, cafes, restaurants and bars provide extra convenience for students without the need to venture into town.
The City of UxbridgeUxbridge is a charming little town in West London, surrounded as it is by an abundance of greenery and several pretty lakes. These peaceful areas provide ample opportunity for some rest and recreation while in town the Uxbridge Craft Market is very popular. Entertainment-wise, Uxbridge has the brilliant Purple Theatre Company and plenty of good pubs and restaurants. In addition London is nearby.
Student LoansBrunel University is allowed to charge new, full-time students up to £3,000 a year for tuition fees from September 2006. Many students will apply for a student loan to cover their tuition fees and day to day living costs. Student loans are the best option for borrowing money for college as interest rates are traditionally low and repayments don't start until graduated students are in work and are earning over £15,000.
